Shipping & Returns
Every piece of Kim Plimley Ceramics is carefully wrapped and packed by hand in my studio in Carrbridge. I want your pottery to reach you safely and for ordering from me to be as straightforward as possible.
UK delivery
In stock pieces are usually dispatched within 3 to 5 working days.
UK orders are sent using Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Tracked 48, depending on the delivery option selected at checkout. Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive tracking information so you can follow its journey.
Please note that delivery times are estimates and may occasionally be affected by circumstances outside my control.
Made to order pieces
Some pieces are made to order and will take a little longer to reach you. The current lead time for made to order ceramics is approximately 4 to 6 weeks, unless otherwise stated on the individual product page.
Pottery is a process that can't be rushed. Each piece needs time to be made, dried, fired, glazed and fired again before it's ready to leave the studio.
If your order contains both in stock and made to order pieces, they will normally be dispatched together once the complete order is ready.
Packaging
Each piece is carefully wrapped in acid free white tissue paper and securely packed with biodegradable packing peanuts to cushion and protect it on its journey.
I use recycled cardboard boxes for my orders and try to keep my packaging simple and considered, choosing recyclable or biodegradable materials wherever practical while making sure your ceramics are properly protected in transit.
Sending a gift
If you're sending pottery directly to someone as a gift, I'm happy to include a personal note. Each order is wrapped in acid free white tissue paper and includes a Kim Plimley Ceramics card.
If you're not sure what to choose, digital gift vouchers are also available via my online shop.
Returns
I hope you'll love your new ceramics, but if something isn't quite right, you can return your order within 28 days of receiving it.
Please contact me before returning your order so I know to expect it.
Returned pieces must be unused and in their original condition. Please package them carefully, ideally using the original packaging, as ceramics remain your responsibility until they arrive safely back with me.
Unless an item is faulty or has arrived damaged, return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer.
Once your return has arrived safely, I'll arrange your refund to the original payment method.
Damaged orders
I take great care when packing my ceramics, but unfortunately breakages can occasionally happen in transit.
If your order arrives damaged, please contact me as soon as possible and include photographs of both the damaged piece and its packaging. I'll then arrange a replacement where possible or a refund.
Please keep the item and packaging until I've responded, as these may be required when making a claim with the delivery provider.
Handmade variations
Every piece is handmade individually, so subtle variations in form, glaze, colour and surface are to be expected. These differences are part of the character of handmade ceramics and mean that no two pieces will ever be completely identical.
I make every effort to photograph and describe my work accurately, but the piece you receive may vary slightly from the example shown online. These natural variations aren't considered faults.
International delivery
I currently ship online orders within the UK. If you're based elsewhere and are interested in a particular piece, please get in touch and I'll let you know whether international delivery may be possible.
