Cairngorm quaich
A classic interpretation of the Scottish quaich, hand-thrown in black stoneware and shaped with gently carved handles in the traditional style. This version feels rooted in heritage but carries the distinctive surface language of my Cairngorm range.
The exterior features a band of white crackle glaze that breaks and fragments across the dark clay — a pattern reminiscent of snow beginning to crack and soften as it melts on the mountainside. Each firing creates its own subtle shifts and fissures, giving the piece a natural, weathered beauty inspired by the Cairngorm landscape in late winter.
Inside, a smooth white gloss glaze seals the bowl for functional use, making it suitable for ceremonial moments, small servings, or as a meaningful decorative object.
Dishwasher safe (a gentle hand wash is recommended).
