Cairngorm quaich style 2
A modern interpretation of the traditional Scottish quaich, hand-thrown in black stoneware and decorated in my Cairngorm style. The form is contemporary and refined, with gently carved handles that honour the shared-cup heritage of the original design while giving the piece a clean, sculptural silhouette.
The exterior features sweeping sections of white crackle glaze that break and gather across the raw clay, creating textures reminiscent of snowy, wind-carved ridges. Every glaze line forms differently in the kiln, making each quaich completely unique.
Inside, a smooth white gloss glaze seals the bowl for functional use — whether displayed as an art piece, used for ceremonial occasions, or enjoyed as a small serving dish.
Dishwasher safe (a gentle hand wash is recommended).
Approximately 10cm wide (bowl diameter only) x 4cm high.
